Corona City Council Unanimously Supports Russ Bogh for State Senate
January 19, 2010
All five members of the Corona City Council - Mayor Karen Spiegel, Mayor Pro
Tem Stan Skipworth, Councilman Eugene Montanez, Councilman Steve Nolan, and
Councilman Jason Scott - have endorsed Russ Bogh in the race represent the
people of California's vacant 37th Senate District.
"We overwhelmingly agree Russ Bogh is the clear choice to represent
Riverside County in the State Senate," said Corona Mayor Karen Spiegel.
"Russ Bogh is a rock-solid conservative with an unwavering record of
fighting taxes and cutting government waste. As a local businessman Russ
knows what it takes to create jobs and work within a budget. We trust him to
get Sacramento back on track."
In addition to their duties on the Corona City Council, Karen Spiegel,
Eugene Montanez, and Steve Nolan are small business owners; Stan Skipworth
is the Police Chief for Cal State Long Beach; Jason Scott is an educator in
the Corona-Norco school district.
"I am very grateful for the support of each member of the Corona City
Council," said conservative businessman Russ Bogh. "On the City Council and
in their professional lives, each of these individuals has seen firsthand
how California's floundering economy and the lack of leadership in
Sacramento is impacting real people and costing Californians jobs. I am
deeply honored to have their support in this fight to get our state back on
the right track."
Russ Bogh served Riverside County residents in the State Assembly from
2001-2006. During that time he was selected by fellow Republicans to serve
as the Assembly Republican Caucus Chairman -- the second ranking Republican
leader in the Assembly.
The special election primary for the 37th Senate District will be held
Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
Corona City Councilmembers Spiegel, Skipworth, Montanez, Nolan and Scott
join past Riverside CRA president Linda Soubirous, Desert Hot Springs Mayor
Yvonne Parks, former Riverside County Sheriff Larry Smith, Palm Springs
Councilman Chris Mills and many other Riverside County leaders in supporting
conservative Republican Russ Bogh for the State Senate.
