Majority of Lake Elsinore City Council Supports Russ Bogh for State Senate
February 8, 2010
Lake Elsinore Mayor Melissa Melendez, Councilmember's Daryl Hickman and Bob
Magee are supporting conservative Republican Russ Bogh for State Senate.
"When Russ Bogh served in the State Assembly, he always put the people he
served first. When the state couldn't balance its budget, Russ was
pressured to take tax money away from local fire and police departments, and
from our roads and freeways," said Lake Elsinore Mayor Melissa Melendez.
"He never gave in to these demands. He stood up for our communities and
insisted that the Legislature cut wasteful social spending programs before
raiding the coffers of our communities."
Russ Bogh served Riverside County residents in the State Assembly from
2001-2006. During that time he was selected by fellow Republicans to serve
as the Assembly Republican Caucus Chairman -- the second ranking Republican
leader in the Assembly.
A longtime resident of Riverside County, Russ and his wife, Sheri, reside in
Beaumont along with their three children.
The special election primary for the 37th Senate District will be held
Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
Lake Elsinore Mayor Melissa Melendez, Councilmembers Daryl Hickman and Bob
Magee join Desert Hot Springs Councilman Scott Matas, Indio Councilmember
Glenn Miller and former Palm Springs Councilmember Mike McCulloch, join
Beaumont Mayor Brian DeForge, Councilmember's Roger Berg, Larry Dressel, and
Jeff Fox , Cathedral City Mayor Kathy DeRosa, Councilmember's England and
Vasquez, Corona City Councilmember's Spiegel, Skipworth, Montanez, Nolan and
Scott, past Riverside CRA President Linda Soubirous, Desert Hot Springs
Mayor Yvonne Parks, former Riverside County Sheriff Larry Smith, Palm
Springs Councilman Chris Mills and many other Riverside County leaders in
supporting conservative Republican Russ Bogh for the State Senate.
