Riverside Sheriffs' Association Endorses Russ Bogh for State Senate
February 2, 2010
The Riverside Sheriffs' Association, Riverside County's largest law
enforcement organization, today announced its support of conservative
Republican businessman Russ Bogh for the California State Senate.
"Russ Bogh is the person we need in the State Senate to keep the communities
of Riverside County safe," said Pat McNamara, president of the Riverside
Sheriffs' Association. "Russ understands that the most important job of our
government is to keep the people it serves safe. The Riverside Sheriffs'
Association trusts that Russ Bogh will never vote to balance the state's
budget by foolishly letting felons out of prison early."
A leader on public safety issues in California, the Riverside Sheriffs'
Association has successfully fought off attempts to weaken California's
"Three Strikes & You're Out Law" and led a successful boycott of Mexico
until that nation agreed to extradite a cop killer back to the United
States. The Riverside Sheriffs' Association also worked to recall former
Democrat Governor Gray Davis for signing a law that allowed illegal
immigrants to receive valid California driver's licenses.
The Riverside Sheriffs' Association currently represents over 3,500
Riverside County law enforcement professionals. Its members include the
County's deputy sheriffs, sheriff's investigators, deputy coroners,
correctional deputies, district attorneys investigators, probation officers,
and retired county peace officers.
These law enforcement professional serve throughout Riverside County, many
stationed in the contract police departments of Calimesa, Indian Wells, Lake
Elsinore, La Quinta, Moreno Valley, Norco, Palm Desert, and Rancho Mirage.
The special election primary for the 37th Senate District will be held
Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
The Riverside Sheriff's Association joins Norco Councilmembers Azevedo,
Hanna, Miller, and Sullivan, Cathederal City Councilmembers Kathy DeRosa
Chuck Vasquez, Bud England, Corona Councilmembers Karen Spiegel Stan
Skipworth, Eugene Montanez, Steve Nolan and Jason Scott, past Riverside CRA
president Linda Soubirous, Desert Hot Springs Mayor Yvonne Parks, Desert
Hot Springs Councilman Scott Matas, former Riverside County Sheriff Larry
Smith, Palm Springs Councilman Chris Mills and many other Riverside County
leaders in supporting conservative Republican Russ Bogh for the State
Senate.
